ELENA CARLINI AND PIETRO VALLE

        Elena Carlini and Pietro Valle collaborated since 1990 as designers,
installation artists and promoters of cultural initiatives. They are currently based in Trieste, Italy. They have completed two residential renovations in Lawrence and Kansas City in the United States, commercial and residential projects in Trieste, Italy, a housing complex in Bologna and have been responsible for the design of many temporary exhibitions and installations. They have been curators of exhibits in the field of architecture, urban design and contemporary art including "The Vanishing Curtain, Urban Mutations in Eastern Germany" that traveled In Germany, the United States and Italy in 1995-97, as well as "Progetti d'Arte Ambientale", "Serial Public" and "Spazi d'Acqua" that took place in Italy between 1996 and 1998. They are currently engaged in the master plan of the estate of contemporary art collector Egidio Marzona in Villa di Verzegnis in the region of Friuli that includes pieces by Sol Lewitt, Richard Serra, Bruce Nauman, Dan Graham, Richard Long and others and that is going to be transformed in a public artpark, in the construction of a single family house in Opicina near Trieste and of a seaside house in Lignano, in the North-East of Italy. They both collaborate to the Italian contemporary art magazine "Juliet". and have published articles and interviews on contemporary art and architecture.

Elena Carlini (Trieste 1962) is an architect who studied at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia and at Columbia University in New York as a Fulbright Scholar. She worked as an architect in the offices of Emilio Ambasz in New York and Richard Meier in Los Angeles. From 1993 to 1996 she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in architectural design at the University of Texas at Austin and at Kansas State University in the United States. She is currently a Visiting Professor in architectural design at the Faculty of Architecture of Ferrara in Italy.

        Pietro Valle (Udine 1962) is an architect who studied at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in Cambridge as a Fulbright Scholar. He worked as an architect in the offices of Boris Podrecca in Vienna, Austria and Frank O. Gehry in Los Angeles. From 1992 to 1996 she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in architectural design at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and at Kansas State University in the United States. He is currently a Visiting Professor in architectural Theory at the Faculty of Architecture of Ferrara in Italy.
