Ólafur Þórðarson (b. Iceland) creates a diverse collection of sculptural works that cross over art and architecture. With 8 solo exhibitions and over 75 exhibitions in 19 different countries, his award-winning works are part of major museum and private collections in the U.S. and Europe. Two monographs showcase his work and his designs and art have been widely published. He taught at Rhode Island School of Design and completed his Master of Architecture degree at Columbia University.

His works are a mix of petrochemical and natural materials. Industrial art works imbued with a sense of the hand made original. There is a deep sense of geological, movement and sculptural engagement.

Influences include Eva Hesse, Aagard Andersen's early works, Robert Smithson, Miro, Calder and the (1965) Superball. He was a student of Architect Steven Holl and then went on to work as a designer with Gaetano Pesce on well over a hundred design projects.
