This unique design studio investigated possibilities inherent in this object most often taken for granted in our daily routines. With 12 excellent students we explored the concept of the door, what environmental phenomena could equate a door as a passage, a threshold, a closure that defines this operable boundary. We scrutinized places, mechanics, potential material uses, and how a door could be the unexpected.

The studio wrapped up with a brief show in the ID gallery where each student presented their full size door prototype.
