í gær
Það biðu mín gjafir ofl þegar ég km heim í gærkvöldi, m.a. þetta
fína afmæliskort sem Lilja og Donna gerðu á mínu 44. afrmælisári.

Eimskip-Geimskip
Var á landinu um daginn og þar sem ég
keyrði framhjá heilu fjalli af gámum við Sundahöfn. Þá hugsaði ég
með mér að Eimskip hljóti nú að leyfa mér að koma fyrir nokkrum
kössum í einum af þessum gámum. Ég setti inn umsókn um
flutningsstyrk mánuði áður,
út af sýningunni minni í
sumar.
Fékk loks nú á Mánudag
svar frá þeim. Bað um pláss í 1/3 gám fram og til baka. Fékk neitun
og svarið var sent til baka sem umsókn um auglýsingu "advertising
notes". Furðulegt því ég var ekki að sækja um auglýsingu.
Eimskip býður viðskiptavinum sínum ávallt hagkvæmasta verðið og er
reiðubúið að flytja sýninguna gegn fullu gjaldi en á bestu fáanlegu
kjörum. Vinsamlegast settu þig í samband við þjónustufulltrúa okkar
vegna tilboðs í flutninginn.
Hljómar fyrir mér eins og eitthvað djók. Ég
svaraði um hæl og sagði þetta eðlilega ákvörðun á þessum
erfiðu tímum. Verð að segja að þeir skuli ekki tíma þessu,
getur nú varla kostað þá mikið að leyfa mér að smella nokkrum kössum
með í gám. For the sake of art...

Returned from Iceland trip
Just came back from a trip in Iceland,
working on the sculpture in Fljótsdalur.
Arranging for material samples in site and looking at possible
locations for constructing the sculpture, which is about 10m long.
Probably it will occur at a nearby farmhouse barn. Very impressed by
how good the people at Landsvirkjun are to work with. |

What a day!
Today went into no work as my sweet Lilja was sick all day. Poor
thing. Cold and fever all night,
probably the flu.
Yesterday I discover some company knocks off das boot and today find
out no-win
in this sculpture
competition with Orkuveita Reykjavíkur
/ Reykjavik Power
company. Congrats to
the winners though.
So here is my idea for a
sculpture.

Das Boot
Today I discovered that
some
macintosh connected company is copying the das boot concept; dasboot as in English a
boot, logo and all. Time to
speak to my lawyer. Odd
coincidence?

Happy New Year
This last year was good. Lilja started school at a Montessori school
nearby. I pick her up on the bicycle and carriage, lots of fun,
often going up to the 92nd street playground for a 25km tour and
change of pace.
 
Work wise,
this year has been good as well, with a bunch of exhibitions around
Europe, in the US and Iceland. Won an important sculpture
competition in Iceland and worked on a number of interesting
projects. Work related ravels included Copenhagen, Oslo and Iceland.
